Annual Fundraiser: Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans (MSHV) 2025

A continued thank you to all those in the Wheatberry Construction family that supported MSHV in 2025.

This marked are second annual matching donation campaign for the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans. MSHV was founded in 2005 by Robert “Bob” Adams (USN), a Vietnam War combat veteran, and Dirk Enger (USMC), a Gulf War combat veteran. The organization serves the laudable goal of ending veteran homelessness so that no person who defended our home goes without one. MSHV meets that mission by providing immediate, transitional, and permanent housing for their clients; by running a commissary to provide food and supplies to veterans and their families; and by providing case management services, veteran employment programs, and mental health services to all those in need. MSHV understand the holistic approach needed to empower the individual and their families. As I have the honor of learning more about their operations, I can attest that the staff at MSHV provide the best care possible by intervening at the personal, social, communal, and national level as strong supporters and strong advocates for our veteran population. Over 400+ veterans will receive direct support from the organization this year, and countless more are advocated on behalf of through MSHV’s work with the county, state, VA, and alongside local and national organizations serving similar missions.

We are ecstatic to report that, thanks to the Wheatberry family, we were able to raise and match $6,110.00, for a total of over $12,000.00 supporting the MSHV mission. We thank everyone who was able to contribute, and we promise to carry on a legacy of supporting our community, our military, and our veterans.
